Storyline

“The Star of the East” is a 2014 Iranian film directed by Ali Ghaffari. The story revolves around the life of Fazl ibn Shadhan, one of the great Islamic jurists and a close companion of Imam Reza (AS). He lived until the imamate of Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS). Throughout his life, he consistently supported the Imams and opposed the oppression of the ruling caliphs. Because of this, he spent many years of his life in prison. The film stars Mahmoud Pak Niat, Anoushirvan Arjmand, Kaveh Khodashenas, and Samira Hosseini.
