Storyline
“The Loneliest Commander” is an Iranian TV series produced in 1997 and directed by Mehdi Fakhimzadeh. The series portrays the final six months of the life of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), the second Imam of the Shiites. It covers events following the martyrdom of Imam Ali (PBUH), the killing of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, the peace treaty with Mu'awiya, and the state of the Islamic society and the Shiites after his martyrdom. Mehdi Fakhimzadeh, Akbar Zanjanpour, Abolfazl Pourarab, Afsaneh Bayegan and Esmaeil Mehrabi are among the cast members of this series.
