The high status of “Prophet Job” in the eyes of God provokes the envy and anger of Satan. To test Job’s patience and faith, God subjects him and his people to numerous hardships, such as famine, earthquakes and disease. These trials cause many people to lose hope in Job and turn away from him. Satan, unwilling to believe in Job’s patience and faith, assumes that these hardships will eventually break him. To hasten his defeat, Satan turns to Job’s wife in an attempt to deceive her…

Storyline

The feature film "Prophet Job" is a 1993 Iranian production, written and directed by Farajollah Salahshour. This film marks his directorial debut. It narrates the life of Prophet Job and the many tribulations he endured. To prove Job’s patience and faith to Satan, God tested him—first by taking away his wealth, then his family and finally afflicting him with a severe illness.
